1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar, packed

For the Brownie Layer:

1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter

1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour

1/3 cup (30 g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup (90 g) chocolate chips

Prepare the Cookie Layer: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.

    Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and set the cookie dough aside.

      Prepare the Brownie Layer: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In another medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat, then stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

        Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then mix these dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
